Why doesn't my controller register a button command? My controller is reacting as if I am pressing a button/analog stick, but I am not pressing anything. How can I fix this? So when a review unit of Performance Designed Products’ Rock Candy Xbox 360 controller came in the mail, well, let’s just say that if my expectations were any lower, they’d be hanging out with Jack Dawson. Then I tried it out. Apparently any brand Xbox 360 controller should be plug & play, and Xbox 360 drivers are included in the system already since Vista. But seems that one from Rock Candy gives problems not only to you, here is Google for you to fix it. Right-click Xbox 360 Controller for Windows, and then select Uninstall. In the Action menu, select Scan for hardware changes. Try updating the driver: Double-click Xbox 360 Controller for Windows. On the Driver tab, select Update Driver. Note This information applies only to the Xbox 360 Controller for Windows. For help with other gamepads.
Hi all,
I have and issue with my XBOX360 WIRED controller for Pc.
From time to time 4 lights of the central button start blinking. There is no reason for them to do that and I am concerned about the cause. They keep on flashing till you unplug the USB. Plugging again solves the question.
Usb keyboard and mouse work great.
My SO si Win7 64bit. The pad is ok because I have tried another wired one with the same result. The issue happens once every 2 days more or less.
What is the reason of this? Do I have my MOBO damaged?
Thanks for your help

A typical reason your controller won't turn on is because it's not being supplied enough power (if any). The potential causes of this problem are numerous. Here is how to identify and fix it:
Testing Connections
Tools and Materials
- Multimeter
- Soldering iron/solder
- Wire stripper
How To
![Xbox 360 rock candy controller drivers Xbox 360 rock candy controller drivers](/uploads/1/2/6/5/126585589/795773423.png)
- Use a multimeter's continuity testing feature to check certain connections (see pictures)
- If there isn't any signal through a certain connection, you may need to strip that wire and replace it
- If all the connections are fine, try the tests below
Testing For a Short Circuit
A short circuit is when the power and ground connections come in contact. This could lead to very bad damage to the controller's core parts or the battery.
Tools and Materials
- Multimeter
How To
Microsoft Xbox 360 Controller Driver
- Unplug everything and take out the batteries if possible
- Using the multimeter's resistance testing feature(Ω), place the probes between the controller's power(+) and ground(-)
- If the resistance is 0Ω or close to it, there is a short in the system. There are many ways this could've happened. They are very hard to fix, so you should check out step 8
Testing Voltage
Tools and Materials
- Multimeter
How To
Rock Candy Xbox 360 Controller Driver Fix Windows 10
- Plug the remote in or put in the batteries
- Use a multimeter's voltage testing feature(V) to check the voltage coming from the console/batteries
- Compare the voltage to the ones on this table
- If the voltage is less than it should be, there is something wrong with the console, and beyond the scope of this Instructable (I have no experience with fixing consoles)
